Iain Gardner

Iain Gardner is an award-winning filmmaker whose animation career began at Richard Williams Animation Studio on the unfinished epic The Thief & The Cobbler. His half-hour film A Bear Named Wojtek won a British Animation Award, earned an Annie Award nomination, and was shortlisted for the 2025 Academy Awards.

Recently collaborating with Lupus Films on pipeline development for their feature Kiki, Iain also served as Animation Programmer for the Edinburgh International Film Festival for a decade, curating the McLaren Award. In 2014 he was Artistic Director of McLaren 2014, celebrating Norman McLaren and the National Film Board of Canada.
