Jenny Jokela

Jenny Jokela (b.1990) is a Finnish animation director based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Her short films have been screened world-wide at festivals such as Annecy, Ottawa, Chicago International Film Festival, AFI Fest, Animafest Zagreb and Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Jokela is known for her playful and colourful, hand-painted animated worlds that visualise raw emotions and human behaviour.

On the side of producing her short films, Jokela has also directed two children's TV series; Hoppsorna (2019-2023, YLE, Finland) and Arne Alligator (2024, SF studios, Sweden).

She has also expanded her artistic practice by making animation for live music performances.

Jokela's commercial animation clients include Coldplay, BBC, Tate gallery, Adult Swim and Disney.
