Katie Mallinder

Katie Mallinder is a Scottish creative producer with a passion for compelling storytelling across both fiction and documentary film. Her short film credits include You Land (Co-Producer, Short Circuit), which was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA in 2024, and Wild Oats (Producer, Grey Moth) which is completing a successful festival run including BFI Flare & Women X 2025. Most recently, she produced Lady Maclean through the NFTS Sean Connery Talent Lab 2024/25 and the film will have its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2025.

Katie’s work also spans unscripted television, with credits including Series 5 & 6 of BBC Scotland’s A View from the Terrace, where she served as VT Producer, capturing powerful and personal stories from within the Scottish football community.

She is currently developing her debut feature film The Crown Mules writer-director Noor Abdel-Razik having just completed the Glasgow Film Festival's Funny Features programme and pitched to industry.

Katie is also part of the team at MySMASHMedia, a platform designed to break down barriers for filmmakers by connecting creators with industry professionals and championing emerging voices. At SMASH, she supports product development, marketing, and works as SMASHCupid - helping match the right stories to the right people.

Passionate about celebrating Scottish culture, Katie is committed to exploring the country’s rich heritage and diverse communities. She is equally dedicated to platforming female and non-binary voices, producing work that resonates on both personal and political levels.
