About The Film

Still of Josh O'Connor from Rebulding.
Josh O'Connor in Rebuilding.(2025)

Rebuilding (N/C 8+)(dir. Max Walker-Silverman)

Josh O’Connor confirms his status as one of the most talented actors of his generation in this deeply felt performance as a cowboy reconnecting with his young daughter. After a forest fire destroys his livelihood, Dusty (O'Connor) finds solace among others who have been displaced. Intimacies unfold against the vast expanse of the Colorado desert, instilling in the viewer an almost transcendental sense of peace. Featuring a standout turn from newcomer Lily LaTorre , Rebuilding is a quietly uplifting story of grief, community and resilience.

Keen to break away from the idea that young people are only interested in films about youth, the GFF Young Ambassadors picked this film because of its themes of community and family, its broad appeal, and its uplifting message.
